Woodland girl

Painting this little woonland girl made me think of my favorite children’s book ‘Chicken Little’, a little Golden Book illustrated by Richard Scarry. I can’t tell why it was my favorite story because it’s pretty cruel about the fox eating all the animals in the end. But as a child you do not seem to notice the horror and fear in stories and fairy-tales, and maybe it was the funny way my dad was reading the story to me. He made up all kind of new things, in fact he made whole new stories and used to imitate sounds and voices. A precious memory….
