I find joy in many different ways doing these small art pieces. So what I did from the start is the following, I have this many papers laying in drawers on which I did color studies, paint expressions and botanical studies. I then randomly painted these pages with new layers of watercolors and gouache. Then I cut them up in long strips, to put them together to finally have a concertina book format. I then looked at every square individually to see what I possibly could discover and if every square could need some additional drawing or a little writing. What I saw in these abstracted watercolors was these many happy places. I continued drawing botanical shapes, trying to do that in a subtle way to keep the original effect and mood intact as much as possible. I thought of making these into square cards, but along the way it felt better I’ll to make it into a concertina booklet.

I like to illustrate my imaginary world by expressing and translating my thoughts and feelings into color and pattern.
