This is what I’m working on behind the scenes. I’m painting these landscapes in oils, on small wooden panels. I’m working in thin layers, lots of sanding in between before adding a new layer. Lately, I’ve posted several color studies on pape on Instagram. The story is that I grew up in a small town in the south of the Netherlands which finds itself in the midst of a marl landscape. You can see the marl appearing above the ground, visible in the hilly landscape, and yellowish in color. More to follow!
